Luna moth (Actias luna) caterpillars actively consume Rhus trilobata, also known as 3-leaf sumac.
Luna Moth Caterpillar – 5th and final instar.
Cocoons, early June 2021. This group will hatch in a few weeks and if the adults mate, the process can start over. Late summer cocoons will go into the refrigerator until the following spring (and kept at approximately 38 to 40 degrees F.)
